Why going tiny can save your life! #TinyHomes

With growing number of millennials becoming home owners, a new trend has arrived... going tiny! Many people have noticed the fast trend of young adults opting out of buying the big home with the white picket fence, and instead are opting for a small quaint space. Just enough for their family - and the option of traveling the world. So, what are the perks to going small? Well, let's find out, and maybe you'll find yourself making a down payment on your new tiny home.

1. Affordability

Going tiny is not just a new trend, but it's saving people big amounts of money. With the average tiny house being $23,000 it's no wonder that people are jumping at the chance to be a homeowner. Even the most luxurious tiny houses are a much smaller amount than a single family home. So save your coins and maybe opt for something a bit smaller. A tiny house is perfect for even a family of a large size. So don't fret about the space and think of all the money you will save. Your bills will drastically decrease from water, electric, etc. It doesn't take much to maintain a tiny home.

2.Easy Travel

Imagine a life where you can literally pick up and go anywhere you want. With a tiny house, you can do just that. I have watched many youtubers document their lives traveling the U.S. with their tiny house in tow, and it looks amazing. Not only do you get to bring the comfort of home with you, you're able to save on travel cost of hotels, food, etc.

3. Moving Made Easy

Moving can be such a hassle for many people. Gathering all your belongings and stuffing them in boxes is just tiring. But when having a tiny house, moving is made especially simple. Not only do you have nothing to pack, but you get to keep your tiny house forever. Stress free, no fuss!

4. Declutter Your Life

Decluttering is one of my #1 favorite things to do. I love the look of clean counter tops, mess free spaces, and beautiful clean lines. So this one is a no brainer. Of course in a smaller house you have to drastically downsize everything. Clothes, shoes, makeup, and furniture. So, if you're like me and love a good clean space, I highly suggest going small!

5. Cleaning Made Simple

Cleaning is a no brainer in a tiny space. It will take you no time to straighten up your space. With most tiny houses being under 1,000 square feet, there's not much for you to clean. Of course it's all in how you maintain your space, but I'm sure living tiny will force you to keep your space tidy.

6. Eco Friendly Living

One look at any Netflix documentary and you'll see immediately the need to reduce your carbon foot print, and it's made simple when going tiny. Not only are you saving money on heating, and water, but there are also small tweaks you can make to reducing your carbon footprint. Some people opt for using recycled items to build their tiny homes, and others swear by composting. Whatever your preference you'll be doing the environment a solid by going tiny.

And there you have it! 6 ways going tiny is a fantastic idea! So start saving your money up, find your land, and go for your dreams! Are you looking to downsize or go tiny in the Atlanta area?  Let me help you find your perfect place! E-mail me at patrice.sumpter@bhhsgeorgia.com.
